As Agen show troublesome threequarter Rupeni Caucaunibuca the door (and presumably as he runs straight through it), Le Rugby's video correspondent Hugh Tube sits down with a nice Armagnac and a bag of prunes and relives some of the big man's finest moments...
So farewell then Rupeni Caucaunibuca, from French rugby at least. Suspended by Agen since July for failing to show up for pre-season training, the Fijian winger-turned-centre has been released by the club and, from quotes like full-back Brice Dulin's "We couldn't trust him any more" and coach Christian Lanta's "The Caucau who was the top scorer in Pro D2 isn't good enough for the Top 14", he's not going to be missed by his former colleagues.
For those of us who aren't in the habit of getting up on Saturday mornings to watch Super 12/14/15 rugby, however, we'll certainly miss him. Fortunately some of his finest moments have been preserved for us to enjoy, at least until the copyright holders find out.
Here's our selection of Caucau at his bullocking best...
Even in his final season with Agen, Caucau - now several shadows of his former self - could still turn on the magic. His first try against Narbonne was, for him, standard crash-ball fare. But fast forward to the 50 second mark for classic Caucau. Now close your mouth, you're catching flies.
The Fijian was banned for three months in the spring of 2007 for testing positive for cannabis. As a result he missed the Rugby World Cup and didn't return to action until Agen hosted Toulon just before Christmas. The Mediterraneans were promoted to the Top 14 a few months later, but this was Caucau's day, his hat-trick helping Agen to a 33-0 win. The magic numbers here are 0:11, 3:24 and 4:24.
Rups has only played for Fiji nine times but has scored 11 tries in those nine outings. Here's his best, against France in the 2003 World Cup. We think the clip actually speeds up as he hurtles past Aurelien Rougerie, but we can't be sure...
Three weeks later, after serving a suspension for punching Olivier Magne, Caucau returned for Fiji's final group game against Scotland. Go on, pour yourself a nice whisky and enjoy...
It's not all tries though. Caucau played some of his best club rugby during Agen's 2006 Heineken Cup campaign, running the show during their home-and-away double over Gloucester...
...And coming from nowhere to prevent this certain try from Leinster's Brian O'Driscoll, who's still wondering where the ball went.
