The French language is a beautiful thing. However, as with most mother tongues, it doesn’t always translate well. Barry Mutuel, our resident wordsmith, has knocked up a team of past and current French players whose surnames sound a lot more interesting once they've been translated into English.
Top marks if you get all 15 (especially without scouring itsrugby.fr for clues), although you’ll have to console yourself with the thought that you could have won a bottle of New Castle of the Pope, if we had one to give away, which we don’t.
The clubs listed are the players' current clubs or the teams they last played for. Good courage!
- Fabien Course Of City (Tyrosse)
- Franck Good Time (Lons-le-Saunier)
- David Good Water (Gennevilliers)
- Kevin Badly Ground (Pays du Médoc)
- Renaud Right-Hand Side Court (Nimes)
- Basile With Small (Union Bordeaux Bègles)
- Mathieu Small Itches (Stade Phocéen)
- Bruno Country (Lourdes)
- Maxime Little John (Aurillac)
- Christophe The House (Agen)
- Christophe Horse (Vallée du Girou)
- Paul Good Bottom (Castres)
- Thibaud Mass Shuttle (Mazamet)
- Pierre With The Brother (Tours)
- Hugo Good Valley (Stade Francais)
